The Greater Madison Area is a wonderful place to call HOME.Several local communities have been voted as some of the top places to live in the country and it is easy to see why.
Madison is the hub of the area.It is a thriving city that keeps a smaller town feel, while still offering something for everyone. It is home to the Wisconsin State Capitol and the University of Wisconsin, both of which influence the presence of its vibrant downtown area, world class cultural offerings, ethnic restaurants, varied museums, numerous shopping opportunities, a large parks & recreation system, and year round festivals. Add this to the beauty of Lakes Mendota and Monona, on which Madison is perched, and you have a formula for an exciting city that gives area residents a wide variety of activities from which to choose.
The smaller communities around Madison have a more relaxed, rural feel, including Mt. Horeb, where my business is located.You can sense this community's uniqueness as soon as you enter its East side, with the water tower art that celebrates its Norwegian heritage, standing stones and wooden troll characters that decorate the main thoroughfare, and European style round-abouts in lieu of stop lights.A pleasant day can be spent here in our thriving, old fashioned downtown, with its antiques, arts and crafts, and other specialty stores. Mt. Horeb is a full service community, with excellent schools, a large public library, a modern aquatic center, nearby Stewart Park, and several annual festivals.
Farther a field, in a land that was once touched by glaciers and covered in prairie, residents can enjoy the beauty of rolling wooded hills, rock outcroppings, wide open spaces, lakes and rivers, numerous nearby tourist attractions, and an extensive park system with many recreational opportunities for all seasons.
